One of the many sophisticated wines from Iona wine estate. Showing all the character of a classic, high quality Pinot Noir at an affordable price. Andrew and Rozy Gunn’s sustainable farming practices on the coolest vineyard in the Cape (420 m above sea level) produce a range of world-class wines.
Tasting notes – Beautiful ripe strawberries, raspberries, cranberries and sweet spice on the nose, with subtle hints of forest floor and wild mushrooms. The wine is fresh with vibrant acidity and a long textured, savoury finish. It is an excellent combination of Old meets New World!

An easily accessible, elegant, excellent value for money wine with good structure. The Van Almenkerk family’s commitment to the production of quality wines is reinforced with each new vintage release.
Tasting Notes: Syrah, Merlot, Cabarnet franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier aged for 23 months in French barriques. Natural acidity and purity of fruit – typical of Elgin’s cool terroir – make for an elegant wine with a lingering finish.

Dry Elgin Cider
In 2005 Terra Madre launched the first vintage bottle fermented cider in South Africa. Made in the same time honoured method as Normandy cider, only the finest Elgin apples are hand picked, gently pressed and fermented, with secondary fermentation taking place in the bottle.
Tasting Notes: A delicate mousse with creamy toastiness from lengthy maturation on the lees. Green apple and brioche nuances. Alcohol of 8.7 % and low sulphur content. 6000 bottles produced. Each bottle is numbered by hand and represents a commitment to quality. An honest artisanal labour of love.

Tasting Notes: Mourvedre grape. Made in a dry style. Succulent fruit aromas give way to bold cherry and dark plum, while lingering pomegranate and sweet anise leave the palate with a refreshing acidity in this sophisticated dry rose.
